I’m brand new. I was going over the CAD software and wanted to input some IDC Woodcraft endmills into a new Library. There is no Flute Length input. Am I missing something?
Carbide Create does not make use of flute length.
If you wish to edit it, you will need to edit the underlying .csv file.
About Carbide Create | Open Data Directory
then the .csv files are in the Carbide Create/tools directory

That’s right on point. Thank you.
I have entered additional information this way a while back. thinking I will leave it in there for future reference. Maybe even the URL to the manufactures site like C3D does for their bits, only to have it be removed the next time I saved anything via CC
It was awhile back and I abandoned it at that time. It might be different now or depends on what you are saving.
However I did successfully import other bits via excel and saved it back as a CSV file. and have done bulk updates on my Libraries. Worked great for the fields that C3D uses.
I am glad C3D allows this. just wish they would not delete field they don’t use. If they still do ![]()
Thanks. I tried changing the .cvs file and I changed the excel spreadsheet but not the library tool page in Carbide Create. If its not used there’s no worries.
My understanding is that the URL field is not allowed to be updated out of security concerns.
That makes sense
.
When you finish editing the spreadsheet file you must save it in the .csv file format. Carbide Create cannot read excel or other spreadsheet files only .csv files. Additionally if Carbide Create is open you must close it and restart the CC application for the new file to take effect.
