Excellent idea for a feature — Grbl has a mode intended to validate G-code which should be usable for this — until it shows up, one can:
- extract the G-code from the .egc by loading it into Carbide Motion and clicking on the file name
- paste it into a file
- run a simulator which does have this time feature on it — list of the free possibilities at: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Communication_/_Control
FWIW, Ages ago, there was a discussion on the Shapeoko forums about a bundle file format for CNC — this was one of the attributes suggested for the metadata.
