Alternate Titles: Oh how I LOVE change…OR…Have I turned into my mother?
I bought a new Asus Laptop for my Shapeoko…and as usual installed all the necessary CNC/Laser/3D Printer software and EVERYTHING installed as usual, except for Carbide Create. All the other software has what you would call normal text/font size.(Fusion 360, LightBurn, UGS, Carbide Motion, etc…) but as you can see (from the photo), Carbide Create program’s text size is VERY SMALL (If I leave the screen size at the factory 1920x1080), I increased it so that I can at least use the program, but WHAT am I DOING WRONG?
Searched this forum, Carbide3D, even Google…I couldn’t find anything that helped.
So, can anybody tell me what is wrong with my Carbide Create?
EDIT ADD: REF: Windows, 10 (64) with all updates. I have tried the Increase text size, 125%, 150%, etc. It does NOTHING to change the Font/Text size of Carbide Create…
Yes. of course. It’s now so GD large that the rest of the programs look like I am visually impaired, but Carbide Create Font/Text size has NEVER change…Still microscopically small…
It was worth a try. I know the point of the V5 release was to move to a new GUI framework which must have broken windows scaling. If you have the old install file you can try the old V4 software and see if it is any better. Supposedly you can have both installed at the same time. Good luck
We’ve had bunch of problems with how Hi-DPI is implemented on Windows. From what we can tell, scaling can vary from vendor to vendor and it can be all kinds of wonky.
System wide scaling can affect it.
You can right click on the program and set overrides (I believe) for scaling and compatibility modes.
If you have a computer with a dedicated video card then it might be worth pinning CC to the discrete GPU rather than the Intel GPU. (I doubt this will have any effect on text scaling but we’ve seen a lot fo random problems fixed with this).
To access the settings, right-click on the Carbide Create icon in the task bar, then right-click on the name in the fly-out menu, then choose Properties:
