Carbide Create Randomly Reorders Toolpaths After Editing

In general, I really like using Carbide Create with my Shapeoko XXL. I am a Rhino3D user and design everything in there, then import SVG files into Create for generating toolpaths and exporting G-Code.

My main issue with Carbide Create - one that I keep hoping gets fixed with each new release - is the way it randomly reorders toolpaths after I edit them, sometimes moving them into different groups entirely. I have this issue with Create on 4 different computers - all running Windows 10 - so I know it’s not an isolated issue. It makes using Create very cumbersome constantly needing to re-order the toolpaths back to the way I had them. In a few cases, I’ve screwed up a perfectly good piece of material because Create re-ordered a toolpath and I did not notice.

Does anyone else have this problem or a suggestion on how to deal with it? Is this a known issue within Carbide 3D that is going to be addressed?

I’m afraid this is a known issue which has had a bug report filed, along with sample files and instructions for causing it.

If you could send further sample files along with step-by-step instructions for causing the disordering immediately after opening the file that might help our developers — send them in to us at support@carbide3d.com
