Just curious as to why more than half of the fonts listed in CC aren’t available. There are some I’d like to see and/or use but alas they’re not available. I dont really care about the ones that are symbols just interested in some other fonts.
The fonts which are bundled w/ made accessible by Carbide Create should all work.
The balance of the fonts are those which are installed on your operating system — whether they work or no will depend on their specifics. In order for a font to work with Carbide Create it needs to be:
- installed with permissions which allow the binary/UI to access it
- be in outline format, so OpenType or TrueType
- be a technically correct font which does not have errors which interfere with usage
older versions had further requirements such as having a space character and a text-oriented encoding (or at least that was my experience/interpretation).
If you will let us know what fonts are not working for you we will look into this with you and either work up a fix or suggest alternatives to use instead.
Cool. I appreciate that.
I just noticed that the ones the are unavailable are the ones that have an (a) next to the name. Anything with (TT) next to it are good.
Those should be Type 1 PostScript fonts — upgrade to the OpenType version, the type designer/foundry will be grateful for that.
Guess I should have further specified “contemporary/modern/actually meant to be used on current software” outline fonts (it’s been decades since I had occasion to buy an Adobe Type 1 font).
