Just upgraded to Carbide Create 815 from like v.400 something :).
I have a Shapeoko XL from 2019 and do not know what to choose as my machine in the setup menu in this later version of Carbide create and Motion?
Any guidance would be most appriciated!

Your machine is a Shapeoko 3, XL size.
That said, this selection no longer does anything other than to serve as a reminder of which machine a given file was set up for (or advertising for Carbide 3D machines for Pro users) — while earlier versions would limit working area or calculate feeds and speeds, current versions no longer do those things.
Ok thanks Will that was quick! Anything else I should think of using the 815 version?
Your old files won’t open, so you’ll need 7 (and maybe 6?) to transfer, or, just use v4 to export as SVG (if that’s an option?) and re-create toolpaths.
