I can draw a rectangle. The rectangle box appears with the Height, Width, Radius and Corners appears. The height and width shows the size of the rectangle I just made. When I change those size numbers nothing happens to the rectangle. If I chose fillet the rectangle changes the corners to a .500 radius which is default, When I change that number to .250 radius nothing changes. I deleted the program and reinstalled it and still the same. I can change the size of the rectangle by using the scale feature but that locks the both measurements to a scale and changes both. I can drag each side of the rectangle to size but its hard to get it exact. There is no apply button so I change any parameter and the rectangle stays the same. I watched a few of the beginners videos and the rectangle changes as soon as the parameters are changed. What am I doing wrong or what is happening?
You have to tab on to a different field:
Type 120 and hit Tab:
Tap Enter:
Select Chamfer:
shift-tab and type 20:
shift-tab again and tap Enter:
Thanks William. Its as simple as hitting enter. I don’t know why they can’t put an APPLY button there like on other applications. Hitting the enter key never entered my mind. Tried it and it works perfectly. I had a feeling there was a simple solution. When I watched the videos I do not recall ever hearing anyone say hit enter when they changed the parameters.
Anyway, thanks for the help. Very much appreciated!
Dennis
Dennis:
You are not alone in finding that little “feature” in Carbide Create. Simple once you know about it
I have never found it mentioned in any documentation. The question has shown up occasionally on this forum.

It might be to keep Will busy. If everything was easy, he wouldn’t have anything to do.

I actually prefer just tapping Enter — not sure what changed in the programming that the Apply and Done buttons were added.
