That’s an error that I don’t think we’ve ever seen in normal use. It makes me think that it’s likely a communication problem between the PC and the Shapeoko.
I’d reboot the computer and the machine and give it another shot.
If that doesn’t help, I’d try going back to the old computer to ensure the PCB in the Shapeoko was not damaged in the transition.
(Edit to add a little clarity- upgrading CM cannot damage any hardware on the machine, but we see lots of incidents where software upgrades happen when people take the machine out of storage, and that’s when the damage occurs.)
I had some more time today, I skipped the download step and was able to home the machine. However, I couldn’t get to the next screen.
I then restarted my computer and skipped the download screen and then was able to get through the whole process. I’m still getting those errors when I try to use motion. They keep popping up one after another.
Found carbide motion build 582 and im getting a infinite amount of this error:
GRBL Error: G-code words consist of a letter and a value. Letter was not found
I redownloaded motion 6 and I’m going to leave the computer on the download step. I see the red and green lights on the board flickering at the same time.
Just doesn’t seem like it should take long to download the firmware. Says there 34 steps and no movement the past 5 minutes.
In the tutorial videos it takes seconds to do.
I also tried another usb cable and different ports and no change earlier.
