Carbide Motion Error: work will plunge below the material

Hi,
I’m getting an error that the current setting will plunge below material bottom. Stated it would go 1.9 mm below material. I left it as is because I couldn’t figure out how that would be and not only did it not go below it didn’t cut all the way through. I’m sure I did something wrong in Carbide Create but can’t figure it out.
I will include my files if anyone can take a look and let me know if they see what I have done wrong.
This is for a sign that has layers. I did not cut on the bottom layer, I had a blank shaped like a Christmas ball and I cut the layers out of Luan Board that is 3/16 of an inch thick. I also use a Bit Setter.
I appreciate any assistance.
Thank you
John Stacy

Which spindle do you have? How low is it?

How long is the 1/8" downcut tool you are using?

If you set the origin at the surface of your stock are you then able to jog down so that the tip of the tool touches the surface of the MDF? Is past the bottom of the stock?

Hi Will,
I have the Carbide Compact Router.
Yes, I can jog to the top of the material and to the top of the bed.

At the time you got the message, had you already set your Z Zero?

The message is only meaningful once all your zeros have been properly set for the job.

Please see:

The next time you have this difficulty, move the machine to the zero position, then click on the “Position” text in Carbide Motion toggling to “Machine Position” and take a photo and screen grab, then pull up the file in Carbide Create and if need be draw up the cut in profile and draw a rectangle at the origin corresponding to the dimension given for being out of bounds by Carbide Motion, position that at the extreme edge of the cut, and then compare — that should make it apparent where the difficulty is.

There are a couple of millimeters of padding, so for small values it may be okay to just send it.
