Carbide Motion for Machinists

I’m used to Mitsubishi and Okuma controls, and obviously Carbide Motion is kind of a spare interface. I probably have to reconfigure my idea of what a CNC control is when I operate the Shapeoko.

I just wrote a drill program in CAM that spots all of the positions for the T-Track accessory I bought from Carbide3D, plugged in the machine, initialized it and now I don’t understand what’s next.

I can’t seem to find the means to set the work offset. I have decided to pick up on the counterbore of the centermost fastener for the stock spoil board, with the surface at Z zero.

I have the two accessories that set XYZ zero and the tool height offset, but I’m not going to use the lower left corner and I don’t even know where to start with the tool height offset. Normally I load a magazine, but obviously that isn’t a thing here.

Can someone point me to a video or a comprehensive guide for Carbide Motion that is geared toward machinists? I feel somewhat strange asking for help on how to operate a machine.
