I am running carbide pro. The program is running great. The problem is when i start a job, there is no tool prompt. When the program gets to a tool change, it just stops the program. Is there a upgrade to motion when you upgrade carbide create? I am saving in gcode. Should I not do that? Any help is appreciated
check the version of carbide motion here
and you may just need to reinstall Carbide Motion again
Anthony
What post-processor are you using?
It should be Carbide 3D Shapeoko.
Make sure that the BitSetter is enabled in Carbide Motion.
The gcode needs to have the proper code for the tool change. Make sure in the program you use for toolpaths, that you are using the proper post processor.
Bit setter is working when i initialize machine at the beginning. Carbide motion is post processor. A good example of problem is advanced vcarve. Pocket enabled, it will route out first process and then freeze. I can hit start again and it will take off, but no bit change
What post-processor is selected under Edit | Select Post-processor in Carbide Create?
It should be “Carbide 3D Shapeoko”.
I’ve never messed with that. I went from the free version of carbide create to pro, but never did anything with carbide motion. That’s probably the problem. I will look at it tonight
Another thing to check is to make sure the tools have a different tool number. If they both have the same tool number, it may exhibit that behavior.
I want to thank everyone for the help. Turns out i had the wrong post processor in carbide pro. Just got out to the today and everything is working great.
Thanks again
