Carbide Router Issue

Well my Carbide router has bit the dust yesterday afternoon in the middle of a job. I didn’t think I was pushing it too hard. I was only running it on the first setting. I guess I should be happy it lasted for six months. I think I will check the brushes today but seeing the smoke boiling out of it, I don’t have much hope that new brushes will fix it. You guys wish me luck.

Contact us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to work through this with you.

Thank you! I will send them an email.

I like most of what Carbide 3D makes and am a happy Shapeoko user. I have a Dewalt 611 router and am quite happy with it. I see many have the Makita and are quite happy with those. However I have seen a lot of posts about problems with the Carbide3d Router. In the future if my Dewalt were to go away I would most likely buy a Makita but I have about $100.00 tied up in Claire collets for the Dewalt. I would definitely not buy a Carbide3d Router. Some say the Carbide3d Router is a clone of the Makita but a clone is not the original. For the prices involved I think the original would be money better spent.
