So, I got the second delivery, but I’m confused. Pictures of the board show what I have on the left and the right is what was delivered. You can see the differences so I plugged in where I could (yellow circle adapter is upside down won’t lock). White adapters have either been moved or new to what I have. A new cable was also delivered have no idea what to do with that how about schematic or something when you send this crap out? Unless I’m wrong and you can explain what goes where I’m missing out on a retirement plaque that is due 27 March thank you for that. As you can imagine the aluminum housing also won’t fit with the new way the board is made.
Main point after all that the board red light on button in front lights up but nothing in lcd screen. Tried holding down mode/run etc. anything to get something on the screen nothing.
To recap purchased main power block board didn’t fix it, purchased VFD power board (never gets delivered sent another one) get something new doesn’t power up the spindle, a cable which was wrong, sent another cable where it looks like I have to do some electrical splicing or something didn’t tear it that far down. Out almost a month now and no replacement plaque for a guy that just did 20 years. Pathetic.
I would say it with a more business like tone, similar to this:
Good morning,
I wanted to follow up regarding the recent delivery I received. While the second shipment arrived, I’m having some difficulty understanding how the components align with my existing setup.
From the photos, the board I currently have differs from the one that was delivered. I’ve tried connecting what I could, but I’ve run into a few issues:
The yellow adapter appears to be oriented in a way that prevents it from locking into place.
The white adapters seem to be either repositioned or different from my original configuration.
A new cable was included, but I’m unsure how it should be used.
If possible, could you provide a schematic or guidance on how these components are intended to be connected? It would be very helpful to ensure everything is installed correctly.
At this point, the board powers on (red light on the front button is illuminated), but the LCD screen remains blank. I’ve attempted various button combinations (mode/run, etc.) without success.
To summarize the situation:
I initially purchased a main power block board, which did not resolve the issue.
I then ordered a VFD power board; the first shipment did not arrive, and a replacement was sent.
The replacement appears different and does not power the spindle.
I’ve received cables that either did not match or require modifications I’m not fully comfortable making without guidance.
It has now been close to a month, and I’m still unable to complete a retirement plaque that was due on March 27. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this as soon as possible.
Please let me know how you recommend proceeding or if additional information from my end would help.
If we got something wrong, please let us know at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to look into this with you and work out how it should be handled.
I emailed yesterday so should expect something tomorrow. I’m just pissed I’m buying parts one at a time to get it to work good for you guys but not me. You’re the man look at those pictures should it work?
You have the option to buy an entire assembly to get cutting again? From what I’ve seen since I joined in 2024 is the Support team tries to get an issues resolved with as little $ impact to the user as possible. Not because they are just throwing one part at a time at it. Without sending your entire unit back in to troubleshoot the issue its almost impossible to figure out sometimes what the issue is.
What we don’t know is if you explained the fact you had a project that had a specific deadline. It’s possible C3D may have suggested an entire new unit?
But we don’t know that, I understand you just venting. The forum has always been helpful, folks always chime in to help and over a very broad spectrum of problems identified.
I hope you get your issue resolve in time to meet you deadline.
They ended up sending me a whole new unit actually an upgrade from what I had ER11 to the 16. Everything works now no more venting ha just took a minute buying this and that doing video call to never get it to work.
