I have a Shapeoko 3 XXL with HDZ. When the proximity sensors came available i installed them. It’s been running great for years. I haven’t used it in some time. When I tried running a project I notice the machine crashes in initial initialization in the rear Y and again in the front Y axis.
The sensor appears to be working. I placed a piece of metal in front of sensor as it was initialing. It stopped. I thin adjusted the sensor to be as far back as possible. It seems to fix the travel back on the Y. However the travel to the front doesn’t stop by crashes.
I have loaded the default setting for travel dimensions.
Update to a current version of CM. Then power up SO3, connect, but do not initialize. At the bottom of the screen is “Setup New Machine”. Run that and then try to initialize. If you have not used it for a while something in the SW may have been modified inadvertently so by updating and running the machine setup you set defaults for your machine.
So I decided after 5 years it was time for some maintenance. I replaced every motor gear, every v wheel, and belt. After that I downloaded the newest CM. I was on version 566. Appears i was in need of an upgrade on that.
Happy to report that after changing all parts and using new CM, I’m good to go. Thank you for your help.
