CC Pro crashing when selecting greyscale model

I am new to the CNC game, but I am loving it. I have decided to try my hand at doing some 3d carving. I upgraded to CC Pro build 514 on a MacBook Pro using Big Sur 11.1 macOS.

If I have anything but a totally blank design and click on Model, Import Image, and select any grayscale image, Carbide Create crashes. I tried including the details from the crash below, but there is a 32k character limit and it was over 85k. Only if I have a blank design and import a grayscale image will it import without crashing.

Does anyone know why CC Pro is crashing?

Thanks,

George

Please send the file to support@carbide3d.com or post it here.

Usually such crashes are either a file not suited to be loaded, or an out-of-date video card or OpenGL driver.

I have tried 4 different files. Here is one: s-l400

Here is another

Imports fine on my computer:

note that this one looks more like a rendering of an STL than an actual depthmap.

if you have the STL, you can follow Cutting STL models with Carbide Create Pro (nearly-2021 edition) to get it to depthmaps
