CC v724 to v738 What happened

I just installed version 738 from 724.
Same file opened in both versions.

This is the toolpaths for version 724.

This is the toolpaths when opened in version 738

This is happening to all my files created before 738. Any ideas why the difference?
TIA

Post the c2d file please

The file has a self-intersection in the Y:

Also, there is an open path at the bottom of the stock:

The open path at the bottom is there to cut the sign free from the larger stock piece that I use. I corrected the ‘Y’, but that wasn’t a problem in the previous version and didn’t correct the problem with the current version. I’ve cut this file with the previous version with no prolblems.

We changed the pocketing code in this build and it has different behavior for exactly-overlapping vectors.

The new method is faster and technically more correct, but we’ll have to look into how to make this error more clear to users.

So, what is the solution on my end to use the files that I have created with the previous version?

We’ll look more into your file and see what we find but you might stick to an older version if you have problems in the mean time.

I managed to simplify it down to see the root problem, it’s not the self intersection, it’s a problem in the code. It’ll probably take a day or two to get this one fixed.

Ok, I think we got it fixed. Give 740 a shot at Carbide Create Beta Downloads

V 740 seems to have corrected the issue. By the way, cut times have been reduced on several projects that I checked in the neighborhood of 15-20% (15 minutes for this project). Toolpath calculation is almost instantaneous instead of waiting for the pocket calculation.
Good work!!

Thanks Jeff, that’s what we were hoping to hear.
