The ability to import an STL file as per the X Y Z size that’s embedded in the file would be really nice. Currently we import to a shape we define and scale as desired.
The work around for me has been to open the STL in FreeCad and run the FCInfo macro. The macro displays a bounding box with the items X Y Z info. Taking note of that info you can then draw a box in CCPro using those dimensions, then import the STL to that box.
You can set the scale to 1.0 to get the original size. Problem is the height defaults to 3mm (0.1181").
If the height would come in relative to the original, you would know the height from the STL model.
Your right @Tod1d, the 1.0 scale works for X and Y. It’s just the Z height that leaves you wondering how thick of a piece of stock you need to cut the part as intended. Scale to include Z height would be the answer.
The initial Z height would need to come in at the height of the STL faceted body, so you know what it is. Currently if you want to know the height it’s modeled you have to open it in another software.
The “Remove Z Height” function is nice to remove stock from the bottom of the model when a ‘base’ is built in, but again you have to know the height of the base, or trial & error it.
