I did a search to see if someone had already requested this and couldn’t fine one. With the “Check Cutter Access” feature, in the future will there be a function to change the vector automatically to the tool cutout area shown? Or the ability to easily change/modifiy the vector manually while using the feature? I could see this as a big plus for doing inlay work. Hope the question makes sense.
That’s an interesting idea. We might be able to do that if we say it’s only valid for some reasonable number of vectors being selected, because it’s very computationally intensive to calculate that for non-trivial vectors. (The infamous Mayan calendar with 4000 vectors, for example.)
We’ll put it on the “let’s think about it” list.
Related to what @PERKS asked, does C3D have a list/database of user feature requests? If not, a list like that could be a good place to track user feedback and let users know if a feature has already been requested. Also a great way for C3D to get free user feedback.
No, we do not share the list of requests or features which folks have asked after, or a roadmap.
In the past, on certain occasions we have asked after user feature requests specifically beyond just having the forum areas — we’re running out of numbers for the v8 series, so it may be that that will happen for a hypothetical v9 which if it were to happen might be a place to change the file format (again) — no idea.
Please keep the suggestions coming, and we will continue to make note of them and evaluate, and we will see what the future holds.
