CIC Inlay press

Has anyone built the CIC Workshop Inlay press using is files?

I modeled and built my own in CC.

Clamps really well.

Wow, Would you share the CC file?

yes, genius! I modified the project by adding 2 more screws (4 all together) per press, and made two of them:
Google Photos
Instead of using the originally recommended press screws I used just some screws and welders nuts, the screws can be turned wit an electric driver, and fastened with a ratchet.
Two can be used for quiet large boards like the steampunk one, 21x15".
GL! btw it is easy to re-invent it.

I bought the plans from CIC and built the press.

I am not super impressed with it. Does it work, yes, do I use it no.

For my inlays I use a scrap piece of wood (a failed inlay attempt) that is the exact size of the project. I do buy the CIC workshop inlay kits, so the scrap piece works just dandy.

I then just clamp the heck out of it. I do have a few long reach clamps for the middle.

I also used some 24" metal slot channel with some long bolts to make a press. It worked OK too.
