When ever I probe, I obviously need to remove the dust shoe, and replace it before cutting. After a Z probe, I always manually retract Z so that I can re-attach the dust boot, AND so that if I am jogging afterwards there is less chance of running into anything.
I would like an option so that after a Z probe, CM always raises to max Z.
I’m probably not being very helpful here, but this was a concern for me, too.
I only use the dust show once I’m starting the cut, so when zeroing is complete and the .nc file is loaded, I click Run, the machine moves to SC and prompts for the cutter, then does it’s BitSetter routine. That’s when I normally attach the dust shoe, but as I’m using a BitRunner, I make sure the spindle is off beforehand!
