CM tool description

So I see several people have asked this question but I have not found an answer.

Is there a way to forward or sync the CC custom tool Library to CM so that CM can prompt you with a tool description instead of just the tool number ?

Thanks

No because C3D uses the tool number. So for me because I have multiple tools that are custom I just printed the list and description and stuck it on the gantry for reference. It can be confusing when you have multiple custom tools to insert the correct tool but C3D uses the tool number and the operator has to know which tool is which number.

Thanks Yes it can be confusing
I have loaded the wrong bit once and it was not fun

My CNC machine will start to look like my desk soon with notes stuck everywhere

Well for the future it would be nice to just copy the CC custom tool library directory over to a directory for the CM  CC and Rpi CM are on two different machines for me.

I place my bits in a line as they are to be used. That helps this feeble old mind kind of keep it straight.

Good Luck

I do something similar to @Zman . I have a plastic tray under where the router comes for bit changes. The plastic bin keeps bits that fall out from hitting the table and rolling off on the floor. In the plastic bin I keep 4-5 bits that I regularly use. At the beginning of a job I put the bits needed on the spoilboard ready to use.

I keep my 60 Degree Groovee Jenny downcut vee bit, #251 1/4" downcut bit, #102 1/8" upcut bit, #112 1/16" bit, and my Melin 1/4" 1.5" cut depth bit and1/8" collet in that tray all the time. I tend to use these bits most. I have a box below the table that holds my other bits and spares. I keep all of the bits in their plastic holders to prevent a falling bit from striking another bit if it falls from the router which they do regularly.
