Color enhancement request

I design custom guitars as well as many other types of projects, but one of the things I struggle with is only having 16 layer colors available. It’s not that I need more colors, but that I would really like to have different colors more appropriate to what I am designing, mostly for my customers benefit. Most programs that use color, use the system color wheel to choose from. Another huge benefit for me, would be the ability to fill closed shapes with various colors. The only option for this now is to export an SVG and color in another program, but then any design change requires completely recoloring.
Thank you for your great program, I have used most cad progs out there, but CC is the most intuitive, logical, feature rich and easy to use.

We had a test build of CC that could render using a woodgrain to show inside/outside the vectors. There were some logical problems with what a vector actually meant (in terms of inside/outside), but it was very cool to play with. I wish I remembered how to turn it on to post a screenshot.

We were probably overthinking the whole thing, and we should just apply a color per layer and not get too clever about merging all the vectors shown.

It’s on the TODO list to revisit.

Now that reminds me of creating fonts, where you have to answer questions you’d never think to ask…sure it’s a circle, but is it a clockwise or an anticlockwise circle? Inside or outside?
When a team meeting becomes a philosophical discussion, you’ve officially overthought it

Depends on if you’re making a Type1, Type 3, or Truetype font (w/ Quadratic B-splines), or OpenType font (and if so, which fashion curves are represented) — I have a copy of “The Black Book”, née The Adobe Type 1 Font Specification on a shelf.

Yeah I figured you’d have something to say about that comment
I know juuuust enough to make a comment and that’s about it, I don’t envy one who has an entire book on it :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s one of many (I wish my 401K had done as well in appreciating as my collection of books on typography, not that it does any good when I’m unwilling to part with any).

That said, it would be nice to have a command to reverse the direction of a path (or at least on which side of the path a Contour toolpath will be cut).
