Combining Incra and MicroJig Shop Project

I recently starting using MatchFit MicroJig products. I handle a lot of rough lumber. I had a piece of MDF with the MicroJig dovetail slots and clamps but it slid between the fence and blade. That made me nervous because of possible kickback. So I tool one of my pieces of MDF already cut with the dovetails and put an Incra miter bar to capture the platform. I used my SO3 XXL to cut the mounting holes.

Laying out the tool path was easy with the instructions from Incra with the dimensions and hole sizes.

Here is what the jig does. Here is just a random piece of sycamore that I wanted to get a straight edge on.

You just clamp the piece on the platform and cut it with the tablesaw.

With one side square I flipped it to get 3 sides square to each other. The forth side will be cut between the fence and blade to create 4 square sides.

Using my SO3 to create shop utility projects is so easy to do and took about 10 minutes to create in CC.

The MicroJig bits and cutting jig are relatively inexpensive. It has been quite useful for holding things that are irregular in shape.

I will do something with this piece of spalted sycamore.
