I upgraded my spindle to the VFD from the default compact router that comes with the 5 pro.
I don’t want the router to go to waste. Can someone confirm that this Makita router base will fit the compact router.
Yes, it will.
The Makita RT0701 and Standard Carbide Compact Router use the same collets, nuts, bearings, brushes, motor, and motor housing — the only things which are different are the cord (shorter on the Makita), the control layout and electronics, the dial (note the Makita lacks detents and may vibrate off a given speed setting) and the top cap (which is of course teal on the Makita).
I believe that accessory comes in two versions — the European for the RT0700 has a non-standard hole pattern, while the U.S. has a standard Porter-Cable pattern.
