I read that Carbide Create works with other branded machines. I have a Fox Alien Masuter Pro. I have purchased Carbide Create V8 and am using Candle. Each time I try to create a project I get to line 14 of the program and the process just quit. In the Carbide program there is a section to choose the machine being use but they only list Carbide made machines. Does anyone have some ideas on how I can get this to work like Carbide says it will? Thanks.
Which post-processor are you using?
Edit | Select post-processor
It may be necessary to use a different communication/control program, or to configure it to accept the G-code from Carbide Create.
My post-processor is Candle combined with the Fox Alien software. I do not know how to reconfigure it. Thanks.
Candle is not an option for Post processors under Edit | Select Post-processor in Carbide Create.
If you have such a post-processor and it is not working, check in with the folks who provided that to you.
To customize a post-processor see:

You can choose “Basic Gcode” or “GBRL” in CC. The Shapeoko ones are specific to C3D machines and their behavior. People use Vetric and Fusion 360 and they get their post processor from the OEM maker. You can write your own if you are familiar with the code used by your machine and/or gcode sender.
When you use CC with a Shapeoko branded machine C3D writes the code necessary to use all the accessories that they sell. Things like the BitSetter and the BitZero. Also the particulars for their various Z mechanisms. When you have a 3rd party machine you can use CC but you are limited in CC for the two post processors listed above. You can get a post processor from your machine manufacturer if they make one for CC, write your own or use the generic gcode and/or gbrl post processor in CC. Those are the choices you get using CC in its native mode. The Pro version of CC allows you to export gcode tool paths. In the native mode for CC it produces an encrypted file .c2d that has the gcode encrypted inside of their file format for use on C3D machines.
Depending on the post processor you can get and/or produce you can take advantage of whatever accessories your OEM maker has but it is on you to get that if the generic and gbrl gcode is not what you want.
