Connecting vectors?

I am having difficulty trying to connect vectors on a eagle file I am working on. Can someone give me some direction on how to get them connected?

Thanks,
Kerry

You need a set of vectors which describe a closed region.

Working from the outside in, we get:

which needs to be opened up so that it can join with the balance of the other geometry:

Draw in some geometry and use Trim Vectors:

to remove the section which precludes joining with the balance of the geometry:

then delete the added geometry:

Repeat for the inner shape:

OK

delete

Once you have a continuous set of open vectors they may be selected:

and joined:

The balance of the geometry:

requires some additional offset geometry:

which may then be trimmed down to only what is needed:

until one arrives at:

OK

OK

Select the balance of the geometry:

and use Join Vectors to close:

Yes

Hi William,

So it looks like I am making progress but still need additional help. I have attached a screenshot of the eagle along with the .c2d file. I am trying to enclose the bottom two areas (W) to be the same as the top area (W) but cannot get the vectors to close. I would also like the outline of the wings to close so I can create a toolpath for them. Can you help with that?

Thanks,

Kerry

This can pretty much be done w/ the previous file which was made:

just offset to the inside by a suitable distance:

Apply

Then draw in crossing geometry where necessary:

Duplicate the relevant geometries:

Then select what one wishes to work with:

and use Trim Vectors to reduce down to what is wanted:

OK

Use Join Vectors to close the new region:

Yes

Eventually, repeating the process as necessary for each separate region which one wishes until one arrives at something like to:

attached as a v8 file (again)
