Every time I remove my controller cover I had to remove my BitRunner cable. Everytime I had to fiddle with the cable to get the BitRunner to work. I cut the end off of the cover so I did not have to remove the cable. Problem solved.

I think this should be the standard design for the cover. That extra lip has little EMF protection and could be in the base and not the lid.
The molex connector used for BitRunner and the like has extremely high friction… its a tough thing to plug and unplug reliably compared to an RJ45 ethernet connector (hint).
