Convert Text to be able to weld

Can someone refresh my memory. How do i convert a text to graphic so i can weld the letters into one piece. I’m using an older version of Carbide create (V743).

When i click on Boolean i get four options. None of then seem to give me what i want

You need to convert the type to paths:

[baricl (Loren Baric)]

Finally got it.

Convert to Curves
Then select “Smart Weld”

Please note that Boolean operations convert text into polylines:

You’ll have a better result if you use Trim Vectors then Join Vectors.
