Using V652 files and upgrading some for testing in V711, options are do you want to convert to path or leave text? What is difference? Which would be better for future versions.? I have noticed I need to redo the tool paths and tool selections. Thanks
Those files are probably from V5, which means that the text will look a little different in V6/V7. If you don’t plan to edit the text and want to keep it looking the same, convert it to curves. If you need to edit the text, don’t convert to curves but be prepared to resize it a little to make it look like it did in V5.
Also, if you plan to edit it (resize/scale) on your other computer that doesn’t have that font installed, you might want to convert to curves. (Yes, I speak from [recent] experience
)
As to the original question, what difference, if any does it make in the tooling paths if you convert std. text into curves? More detail/less detail/ longer or shorter cut time/ doesn’t matter to the tool path?
Just trying to figure out why I would want to convert?
Thanks
It doesn’t change the toolpaths at all
OK. So the only reason to change from text to curves would be if you want to modify the letters in some unique way?
Thanks

I use Illustrator for most design work. Convert To Outlines takes the text and creates vector paths that are readily resized, etc in Carbide Create. I can’t change the spelling in CC, but resizing is simple. Similar logic applies to CC.
Illustrator files get saved as .SVG for Importing into CC.
