Copy Commands Not Working

I have been through the tutorials and spent a fair amount of time just playing with the software. I cannot copy, either by selecting from the drop-down or using the Ctrl/Copy quick keys. I seem to have other functionality. I can duplicate an item, but not copy. I select the item, say a circle or a square, click on copy, or use the quick keys, and I do not see an offset image to work with. Absolutely nothing happens that I can observe. What am I missing? I am sure I will feel like an idiot, but…?

After copying are you pasting? Ctl V for windows user

That did it. Thank you. The drop-down menu will straight copy, but it won’t paste. Ctrl C and Ctrl V both work - I hadn’t tried the quick keys. But what’s up with the explanations about saying COPY, and then looking for a slightly offset image up and to the right? Is that only for Mac’s?

I use windows so im unsure about mac features. I have noticed that if my cursor is off the work surface and say over on the side menu area it will paste exactly on top of the other so you will need to drag it off to see. If the cursor is on the work surface it will paste closest to that.

If im pasting the same object in multiple places i will just move my cursor where i want it and use the paste quick key, move cursor to next area and repeat. Then ill go back and align them as needed. Seems to be quicker for me

You can also use ctrl D in Carbide Create

Tried that as well, and did not work. I think I need to experiment some more. I got really focussed that second image just popping up. Ctrl V works well for me. Thanks for sharing!

Ctrl D then move mouse to location you want the image… left click, if you didn’t do that. Good luck.

Ctrl C copies in Windows and Ctrl V pastes and those are a Windows feature. As others said above there are some CC specific hot keys that will cut and paste.

Early versions of Carbide Create used ctrl c (or command c on Mac OS) as a duplicate command, since copying wasn’t supported, hence the confusion.
