Creating smaller curves

Im trying to copy a design I found online of a soccer ball plaque for my son’s coach. I am trying to figure out how to trace the pattern shapes. Is there an easier way to where I can convert the jpeg to another type of file to make tracing easier? I have attached the file with the top cut out traced except the curves. Thanks for any input

Given the file:

Measure the desired inset:

Select the outer circle:

copy-paste it to make a duplicate in the same position:

Then reduce that copy by that dimension:

Draw geometry to define where you want the cuts made:

Done

Shift-click on the circle to add it to the selection:

and use Trim Vectors:

to remove what is not wanted:

Ok

shift-click on what is wanted to remove it from the selection:

and delete the marking geometry:

Select the geometry which one wishes to add to:

and use Node Editing:

to right-click:

and Cut Vector:

Select the begin/end nodes:

and press d to delete:

Done

shift-click on the arc to add it to the selection:

and Joint Vectors to close:

Yes

Then use Circular Array to duplicate, but first check the center of the circle:

and transfer those coordinates into the tool:

OK

Attached as a v8 file.

Awesome, I was able to use that and get it all lined up. I did not know that I could copy those on a circular array.

Thanks again, Chris
