Cutting a segment of a circle

Attempting to take out the segments of the circles in between the two lines that run through the logo. I have spent two days on it now with no success. Anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this. I have attached the .svg file so that you can see what I am referring to. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

This is what the “Trim Vectors” command is quite useful for.

Select the elements involved:

Go into Trim Vectors mode:

click to remove the lines which are not wanted:

until one arrives at:

OK

OK

Then use Join Vectors to close things:
