Cutting channel with round bottom, can not change orientation of the curve?

I’*ve figured out how to get the channel cut in, but the cut of the curved bottom is always aligned vertically (left object on the 3d render)

id like to be able to rotate the component so that the groove runs horizontally on a similar component,

as shown, the horizontal channel (left object in 3d render) is still being cut like a WIIIIIIIDE round bottom inside of “half a cylinder”.

i cant even seem to rotate a vector (keeps snapping back to original orientation) let alone a component once its been laid down

any help greatly appreciated

surely not all round bottom subtraction cuts have the curve running in the same direction ??

I believe that the wood grain of the preview is confusing this.

A further consideration — the red shows that you have modeled thicker than your stock.

new lesson learned, cheers n thanks
