Cutting the same design but with a 3/16'' bit instead of 1/4''

Hi Carbiders,

In search of more precision for cutting very small circles, I would like to use a 3/16’’ bit instead of the current 1/4’’ that I usually use. How can I implement this new bit in the same tool path without changing the size of the circles I’m cutting?

Thanks in advance for your help

Just switch the tool? Where the cut is made will be adjusted for the change in radius/diameter.

Hi Will,

Thanks for answering in such a timely manner, I will look up the link you sent and give some news as if it works. Thanks again

Be sure to save the tool path again

Anthony

Basically I’m using a Amana 51404-K 1/4 to cut circles in PETG but without changing anything to the current dimensions, I want to change the bit for a Amana 51417-K 3/16’‘. So from 1/4’’ to 3/16’’ to cut the exact same design.

Thanks

Thanks Will, as you can figure I’m completely new to CNC. What I wanted to make sure of is if Cardibe would ‘‘automatically’’ adapt the tool path with no alterations to the design. I guess this is what you meant here

What feeds and speeds would you run for a 3/16’’ Amana on PETG 0.080 sheets?

Thanks very much
