Depth Per Pass/Zero Height Issues

Hello all,

Setup: Shapeoko 4 using BitSetter and BitZero. I’m having issues with my depth per pass/zero height while using a pocket/contour operation. During a recent pocketing project - attached, my initial depth per pass was set at 0.1" however the machine cut 0.19" on the first pass and 0.16 on the subsequent passes. Third pass was cutting mostly through the stock but was supposed to stop at .3" depth (total stock .525).

I’ve tried changing the zero location - bottom and top, using bitzero and not using bitzero to set the zero height with the same results. Collet is tight with no slipping of the bit. Issue has been going on for a while and I’ve found workarounds, but now it seems to be getting worse.

Thanks in advance for any help here. Looking for troubleshooting suggestions as I’m at a loss!

Could you have configured for an HDZ Z-axis when you have a Z-Plus?

If you set the Z-axis zero at the surface of the MDF and jog up 1" how much does the machine move?

That was the fix I needed! Simple mistake that caused a lot of issues. Thank you @WillAdams
