Using a 1/4 bit and want to use a 1/8 bit. for some detail. but it appears when I add the 1/8 that it is going over the same space as the 1/4. What is the best practice to get the detail of a pocket.
ok so the best practice is
use the 1/4" bit to make the pocket
then use the 1/8" bit to do an inside contour, not a pocket operation
this works really well but only if your 2nd bit is at least half the size of the roughing (first) bit.
(basically as long as the 2nd bit is at least half the size, you won’t leave anything behind that shouldn’t be there)
