Hopefully this is an easy fix. I figured I’d ask for help before messing with it.
My collet split into 2 pieces when trying to remove it off the spindle.
Is the collet broken?
Any tips how to remove the piece that’s stuck?
How do I attach them bot together again? Light tap with a rubber mallet?

There is a 3rd party which makes precision collets for the DeWalt:
Be sure to scroll down to the Palm Style area and double check the 1/4" manufacturer number to get the right one.
