Please see 2 different files, one from V7 & one from V8 & see the time & machine movement difference for yourself. ** Not being rude, just trying to show/explain that there is definitely something not right with the new V8 VCarve tool paths.
** & yes i’m aware this is carbide create time, but it’s fairly close to the same amount of time it ran/runs in carbide motion. **
*** also I started this new topic because I was out of “replies” under other topic. ***
clearly there is NO DISPUTING something isn’t right with the way V8 VCarves these VS how V7 always has. Please know I’m not here to argue, or yell, nor am mad (today) at anyone as I only want y’all to be aware of this issue & hopefully get it resolved.
If you slow the simulation down to its slowest setting you can watch the both side by side. I don’t know if the red (rapid) lines between the two are (just) a visual different or an actual G-code difference.
I exported the G-code and attached to this message if someone wants to evaluate (I’m not a G-code reader). 7.nc (1.9 KB) 8.nc (2.3 KB)
Either way the V8 isn’t AT ALL up to par on the VCarve portion of things like V7 is. I too did a single star yesterday after this & it ran the same way… to many extra inefficient non-necessary moves that take up way to much time. Unfortunately until it gets resolved I’ll have to use V7.
** Not knocking nor criticizing nor blaming anyone for anything. I’m only stating the VCarve toolpaths/time In the New V8 Carbide Create Version are WAY OFF. Other than this I have absolutely no complaints about anything from Carbide 3D as they’re ALWAYS spot on with things. I know I probably sounded/seemed rude yesterday, but I was honestly just upset/mad about the time that was wasted (that I guess I wasted & should of just re-downloaded V7 & moved on). **
