I am a beginner so I am learning by making (many) mistakes. It’s fun. I love the CNC! But if I have a 1 hour job with 5 tool changes and I screw up 45 minutes in, it appears that I have to stop the whole job and restart from the beginning. Is this true? Is there a better way?
With 5 tool changes, it seems to me like the software has a natural breakpoint where it’s rezeroing via the bitsetter. I think of those breakpoints like chapters in a book. If I have 5 tools changes, I have 5 chapters. Is there a way that I can stop the whole job in the middle of chapter 4 (after I completed tool change 4 but before tool change 5) where I screwed something up? Then I fix my problem, reinitialize, reload the file, rezero and tell the software to start where the program asks me to load the tool required for tool change 4? I don’t mind restarting at Chapter 4 but having to go all the way back to the beginning…I want to knock my head on a wall.
You can disable tool paths in carbide create so you can skip over the first portion. Simply stop the job, don’t remove your work. You shouldn’t have to rezero anything as well. Go into CC go to tool paths and right click on which tool paths you want to disable. Save the file and reload it back into Motion and start the job over again.
