Does not Inititialize-Humming sound first step of init

I just finished cutting a small project. When the job was done, I turned off router as instructed and then hit to final button on Carbide Motion. I just heard a humming sound coming from the router mount when it tried to go up.

I powered off and now when I connect and initialize, the first thing that should happen the router should go up, correct? I just hear that same humming noise.

I have attached a video (compressed file).
Did something burn out or maybe get thrown out of whack?

I did not look at your video because I do not download random zip files. However it depends on your machine type and Z. An SO3 with belt drive the belt can come loose. On SO3/4 with Z-Plus there is a coupler that can come loose and cause your Z not to rise. The same thing can happen with an HDZ. So manually try to move your Z up and down if a Z-Plus/HDZ and see if there is any mechanical resistance. Look at your Z motor coupler to see if it has come loose.

My machine is a Shapeoko 4 XXL.
I checked the Z-motor cable at the motor connection as well as the right hand side where a lot of other cables come together and there are other connections. I unplug the Z-motor connecter at both of these places with the power on and I can hear the Z-motor click on and off.

I tried pulling up the Z up and down but I am unable to move it. But I would not think I would be able to move it since the motor not spinning would not allow it to go up, right?

You should be able to turn the lead screw and slowly move the Z up and down. You can remove the Z motor and the coupler and the Z-Plus should move up and down. I suppose the motor could be seized but likely a mechanical problem. You have to twist the lead screw. It is not easy but it should move slowly by hand. You cannot just lift up on the Z-Plus/HDZ you have to twist the lead screw.

Thank you Guy. I got it free. I was at first only able to turn the lead screw to lower it. Then I kept working it and then it finally went up an down as well. Then I initialized it and heard the noise once on the way up and then I kept going up and down by jogging it and then it finally worked fine.
There must have been something stuck on the threads but I never saw anything come out.
All is well now.
Thank you for your help.
