The product page doesn’t mention it, so I assume it doesn’t, but wanted to check. I’m going to start cutting aluminum and seems like misting is a good call.
If it doesn’t, I’ve had my eye on making one of these: https://youtu.be/GMN0wcS_OjQ?si=QpYiyBGagZSTXmHR
The peristaltic pump should be more reliable at metering the coolant than those annoying little needle valves you find on most systems.
Maybe worth checking out yourself ![]()
It doesn’t, it’s air only. But I have to imagine you could easily add a syphon mixer valve to the incoming air line to add mist coolant.
I use one of these: https://www.jbtools.com/hhip-cnc-mist-coolant-sprayer-8401-0199/
I did have to modify the nozzle with a smaller hole to get the mist volume I wanted. It’s so fine you can barely see it, and doesn’t leave much coolant on the job when adjusted correctly.
The patent expired on the original mist system, but I forgot the name of it. The patent has a lot of good information on the internal construction of the mist unit. (If you’re the type that reads patents for fun. Sadly, I am one of those.)
Because I had to find it…
I just came back to this thread to post the link after finding it myself ![]()
You win this race ![]()
I know that posting that is like nerd catnip; I couldn’t let someone else win.
