-0.1 is also your mistake, it needs to be +0.1 not minus.

@fenrus She’s setting zero using the set zero buttons. You’re correct, though, that one could carve the pocket, return to Z zero, send G10L20 Z0.1, then carve the engraving at the bottom of the pocket.

Struggled with this myself… another option is to zero x, y and z normally. (At the center of the project, and I assume that the center is not a pocketed area. )

Then jog the x, y away from the center of project, to actually clear the side of the project. Then jog the z axis only, down .1 and “re zero” the z value only. Jog the machine back above the project and run. The original x and y are retained, and the z will be at the desired pocket depth.

Hope this doesn’t confuse…
