Dumb question of the day V-bits

How do you get a 60* v bit with .250 in diameter (cic bit) to cut like a 60* v bit with .500 in diameter (nomad bit)

If I understand what you are asking you want to use a small V tool to make a deeper cut than it is capable of, so that it has an end result like to a larger tool.

If the design is simple enough to inset using Offset Vectors, then this should be doable.

Start by drawing the tools in profile:

So we want to make a V carving to a depth of 0.433 inches, which normally would require an 0.5" tool using an 0.25" tool:

Inset by the width:

Assign a V Carve toolpath which starts at the bottom of the previous pocket:

and cuts to the desired depth:
