Can someone please help me understand the rules around dxf imports?
I was sent this dwg. I’ve opened it in Autocad, exported as a 2013 dxf but when I try to import it into carbide create i am missing elements and some of the features are different.

Do I need to modify elements in the dxf? Hoping @WillAdams can teach me what I’m doing wrong here 
The DXF is getting saved as an assembly. The components don’t import.
Also, the lettering that’s missing is Note objects in the DXF. I’m guessing CC doesn’t like these either.
Would an SVG help?
yes how did you make that one? I typically use inkscape but the dxf is giving me issues in that as well.
oh interesting, i had no idea about the assembly thing. I will need to look into how to flatten it or something.
I imported your dxf into Vectric Aspire. Worked perfectly.
I get files to cut from a guy who uses Rhino and exports dxf files from his 3d models and they come out looking like that. I have to import into Vetric Vcarve or Lightburn and export as svg and they will load on Carbide Create correctly. That’s one thing that bugs me on CC. I like the interface a lot, just wish I could import dxf files more reliably.
oh I didnt think of lightburn to convert, I’ll try that for the next one
