Can the router/spindle
Those slots in that black plastic cover on top of the spindle is where air is drawn for cooling, and should be left unrestricted. You could test for air flow through the spindle with some fine sawdust on the spoil board. Lower the spindle close to the sawdust and send the M3 S15000 command in the MDI panel. You should see the sawdust move and possibly feel slight air movement. M5 to stop the spindle.
Does the spindle spin freely by hand? You should be able to look down into the top and see how much got in there. You don’t have much choice at this point? Attempt to clean it and run it or buy another one. Good luck.
