Facing Entry Cut Not Starting at End of the Piece

I am facing a cutting board as a gift. When the tool path is calculated in CC the entry cut isn’t at the end of the board, but at approximately 3/4 the way up. Any thoughts as to why this might be happening? This has caused me to surface the cutting board across the grain versus with the grain. The result has been successful, but not ideal. Attached is the file and screen shot of the starting cut. Your input is greatly appreciated

Rounding error due to stepover. Decreasing it to 0.499:

will yield a toolpath which begins/ends at the corners:
