In order to improve the appearance of the simulation, I frequently create toolpaths (usually pockets) to remove excess material from the simulation. I would never want to run these paths in the real world.
I can manually disable them (which I do now), but switching them on and off repeatedly as the project iterates is ripe for errors.
I would like a way to designate a toolpath as “No GCode” - never saved to the output file.
EDIT: Also, such paths should NOT add to ‘Toolpath Volume’ in CC Pro.
I’ve included a couple of screenshots, here, if I was trying to get a project approved I think the second one is better.
I do the same quite often for mockups for customer approval. I label them “Display Only” or if there are more than a few I group them in a “Display Only” group to make it easier to toggle them off when done & ready to save Gcode.
Any other CAM system I use works the same way. You can disable / suppress a path so it doesn’t get included in the post. Or you can include them in a separate group, and only post the group you need.
I think one viable enhancement that would help with this is to only post what is selected, rather than everything that is enabled. i.e. Select a group to post that group. Select a single operation to post that toolpath. This is much more common functionality.
