After 4 years with vCarve I have purchased my first Shapeoko and am ready to transition to Carbide. I have several complete files from vCarve how can I get them transitioned over so I don’t have to start from scratch?
Sorry to say, but you won’t be able to just convert a Vectric file to a Carbide Create file. About the only thing you can do is save the stuff in Vectric to an SVG or DXF file and bring it into Create that way.
Export from Vectric, if possible as an SVG as noted by @Brew — fallback file format would be PDF.
The SVG should just open/import in Carbide Create.
A PDF would need to be opened in a 3rd party tool such as Inkscape, then re-saved/exported as an SVG using appropriate settings (96dpi, uncheck “Responsive”, &c.)
I believe you can also just use a Shapeoko post-processor for vCarve if you still wanted to use a Shapeoko but stick with a familiar software.
If you still have a working copy of Vectric software which you wish to use, as @Spyd notes, it works fine — just select the appropriate post-processor and prepare and send G-code to the machine as normal.
