After what seemed to be endless testing, a lot of help from C3D Support and a lot of help here with stupid questions, it seems I’ve made a breakthrough both literally and figuratively.
I was having trouble with figuring out how to carve a two sided spoon with tabs. @WillAdams suggested once I flip it over and set the stock thickness to half the actual thickness. With this being 3/4 stock and with cutting a relief of the first side of .250, I set thickness to 3/8". After a lot of testing it turns out that seeing the thickness to around .490 will work perfectly for this piece.
It seems instead of the top side relief being cut to the prescribed .250, it actually cut to .234.
I’ve come to the realization that some of this is more art than science.
Just wanted to share in hopes that it helps someone.
Thanks for everyones support.
