Fusion 360 and Carbide Motion with BitZero - Newbie Questions

Hi Everyone,
Im new here (my first post!) and am on the list to buy an XXL when it gets back in stock. I have been doing a lot of research recently on CAD/CAM and have been learning Fusion 360 as well as the operating rythym of the XXL.

I do have 2 questions.

1 - Do you need to go through Carbide Motion even if you generate Gcode in Fusion 360? Is the flow…

  • Fusion 360 Design
  • Fusion 360 G Code
  • Carbide Motion load to CNC?
  • Fab part

2 - If the answer to question 1 is “no” - can you still use the BitZero addition?

thanks and I appreciate everyone’s patience in my elementary questions!

Eric

1 - yes.

2 - yes, you just need a suitable post-processor — see:

Just wanted to point out there are other options besides Carbide Motion for a G-Code sender. Things like UGS and CNCjs. As someone starting out I would highly recommend you stick with Carbide Motion. CM is designed to be simple, and powerrful enough to get the job done. In some more or less plug-and-play.
